We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on integrating third-party chat platforms such as Slack, MS Teams, and Zoom with PagerDuty functionalities. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of PagerDuty's features into these popular communication channels, ultimately enhancing the customer experience and maximizing value for our users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement integrations with third-party chat platforms, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and scalability.
  • Utilize best practices in software engineering to architect, code, test, and deploy high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements and adhere to internal standards.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver features on time and within scope.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the stability and performance of integrated solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting their professional growth and development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience as a full-stack Software Engineer in a cloud-native, micro-service SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS environment.
  • AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) experience. 
  • Have a good understanding of micro-services architecture.
  • Technical stack experience required to be successful in this role:
    • Unit/Integration/System Test implementation, CI/CD Discipline (Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS)), Incident Response & Risk Management. 
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and framework (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Python, Phoenix/Elixir, Java). 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience programming in Elixir.
  • Understanding of third-party chat platforms (e.g., Slack, MS Teams, Zoom) and their APIs, as well as experience integrating with these platforms in a professional setting.
  • Experience working at a SaaS company larger than 1000 employees and 100M in revenue. 
  • Ability to think through a complex problem, build a solution, and execute that solution with effective change management skills. 
  • Possesses a strong sense of ownership and a keen discernment for excellence in software development within a SaaS environment, demonstrating the ability to distinguish what constitutes a truly robust and effective safeguarding integration.
  • Ability to design, monitor, and operate logging and alerting toolsets.
  • Demonstrated history of mentoring and coaching.
