PagerDuty is looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about Generative AI and has interest in collaborating with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Engineers alike. As part of our team, you will help us accelerate the development and extension of products powered by Gen AI by building applications and services that our customers can use. 

You will be working on high-impact / high-visibility projects and have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to help shape how we enable our various products to leverage the latest generative AI capabilities. You’ll succeed by being an effective team player, independently managing time, and demonstrating emotional intelligence as you navigate stakeholder relationships championing and scoping our cross-team initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • From day one, you’ll be designing, coding, testing and shipping APIs, backend applications and microservices that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable solutions to our customers.
  • Since we own and operate what we build, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers across teams.
  • We test in production also, so you’ll be involved in planning and running experiments where we deliberately stress our systems to find weaknesses and fix them proactively. 
  • With 14,000+ global customers and growing, you’ll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand. 
  • You will work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to build solutions that solve customer problems.
  • You will be participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of development experience building and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
  • Experience working with Product teams, ensuring and driving a timely delivery
  • Experience of at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, Elixir, Scala, etc.
  • Experience with tools that ensure your high quality work makes a smooth, automated, repeatable transition from your machine to our staging and production environments. 
  • Participating in an on-call rotation and triaging/addressing production issues as they arise.
  • Writing unit and integration tests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience shipping ML related products.
  • Experience working with data scientists and ML experts.
  • Experience with AWS cloud ecosystem.
  • Experience working on customer-facing and web-based Software-as-a-Service (Saas) systems.
