PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer (React) to join our diverse, customer-focused team in Lisbon! As a Senior Front-end Engineer (SDE3), you will be working on the team leading our AI-first initiatives, called PD Advance. This is an exciting opportunity to work on PagerDuty’s latest agentic AI chatbots in a fast-paced environment with quick deployments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of React and be able to work with the backend as well (Python and Elixir).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • From day one, you’ll be designing, coding, testing, and shipping features and libraries that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable, and scalable solutions to our customers.
  • You’ll be involved in mentoring and teaching other engineers.
  • Developing architecture patterns that scale across the engineering organization and provide a better user and developer experience.
  • Writing unit and integration tests.
  • Owning and shepherding projects that our team takes on related to PD Advance / AI products. 
  • Creating alignment among various stakeholders about recommended technical solutions.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation and triaging/addressing production issues as they arise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have at least 6+ years of experience building and managing web apps using a modern component-based framework.
  • Must have a deep understanding of React and client-side TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Must have some full-stack skills working with languages such as Python, Elixir, or similar. 
  • Have a deep understanding of modern styling techniques on the web including CSS-in-JS frameworks and CSS modules.
  • Knowledge about core parts of frontend engineering (state management, performance, accessibility, styling, infrastructure).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with machine learning or AI. 
  • Experience with chat applications like Slack, MS Teams, or web chat. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment with quick deployment cycles. 
  • Strive for continuous learning and improvement for themselves and their teams.
  • Past experience in a full-stack role is a plus.
